George Karl in Denver

When George Karl became the Denver Nuggets’ head coach on January 27th he replaced interim head coach Michael Cooper to coach a team with a 17-25 record. With his experienced and insightful coaching he led a miraculous mid season turn-around which was capped off with the Nuggets beating the Jazz 109-98 Wednesday night. With the win the Nuggets moved into a tie for the number 7 spot in the Western Conference with the Grizzlies. Also with the win the Nuggets claim their 15th win in their last 17 games to have a record of 39-31, making them 22-6 when coached by George Karl.

Aside: John Stockton was honoured before the game when an 8-foot bronze statue of him was placed south of the delta centre. Stockton watched the game from the stands where he received a standing ovation from the crowd before the second quarter.
My 2 Cents
Wow what a turn around! If George Karl didn’t join the Nuggets half way through the season I would probably give him my vote to him for Coach of the Year.
