LeBron, Carmelo, and Dwyane

A while back I wrote an article about the Rookie Class of 2003. The main focus of the article were on three NBA players; namely Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Dwyane Wade. Other than their prolific athletic talent, another commonality among them is all three of them have agreed on contract extensions with their respective teams. Over the last week or so, both LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony agreed to the maximum 5-year 80-million dollar deals with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Denver Nuggets respectively. Tonight, Dwyane Wade; the NBA finals MVP, joined James and Anthony by agreeing upon a very similar deal.

Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat have reportedly agreed on a five-year contract extension, with the hope that a deal will be finalized before the MVP of the NBA Finals leaves for USA Basketball’s summer training camp later this month.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported on Tuesday that Wade’s agent, Henry Thomas, said that he expects Wade to sign the extension, for five years and between $75 million and $85 million, on July 12. #
