Dwane Casey and the Wolves

Dwane Casey who has spent the last 11 years with the Seattle Supersonics has accepted the job offer to coach the Minnesota Timberwolves. He will be taking over Kevin McHale who took the coaching job on a temporary basis after Flip Saunders was fired in mid-February. The Timberwolves failed to make the postseason this year for the first time since 1996 posting a 44-38 record.

George Karl Suspended

George Karl; the coach of the Denver Nuggets who led them to a miraculous mid season turn-around was fined and suspended for 3 games next season for violating NBA draft rules. The fine was a whopping $200,000 and his suspension is for the first 3 games in the 2005-2006 season. The league reported that George Karl violated NBA draft regulations on May 16th-18th when he attended several workouts at Marquette University involving a player not eligible for this year’s draft.
